Entry for the_labyrinth_club's Seasons contest; winter, obviously. Painted in PhotoShop using two reference photos: The Labyrinth movie still for the background, and movie still from the crystal ball scene. Jareth's costume is not identical to the ballroom scene -- I couldn't find a shot with a clear view so I composed something in the same style.EDIT April 2, 2010: I won, I won, I won!

This is just gorgeous! I love Jareth's somber expression and how this sort of acts as a metaphor for his situation. Poor Goblin King, still in love, frozen in a moment long gone... Sad how he had tried to tempt Sarah to stay with him in that ballroom and got lost in there himself.
God, Labyrinth makes me want to make it more philisophical than it really should be!

But that is exactly what gives the movie its appeal and makes it more than just another funny critters story: it's incredibly detailed behind the scenes, and you can just keep on diggin'!

OMFG! This is... (squee!!) I looove how for once, we see the labyrinth/maze covered in a layer of pure white snow. ;3; It looks crystallized/and or fluffy :3.

At 1st I though Sarah was like a ghoslty image (Jareths' dream bubble stuff? XD).
Can't get over the detail put into it.
An I love the originality put into J-Fae's clothing^^ stunning!
The sky almost seems like the 'Southern lights'/Aurora. with bright greenish tints over the snow-y peaks of the castle

His blue hair streaks go perfectly with the theme
Sarah is really just an ice statue... Jareth wants to kiss it (End up getting his lips frozen to hers 
dancing with a block of ice.

I don't know, there was just something about Jareth and his whole illusion theme that said 'snowman' to me -- and of course, His Nibs wouldn't settle for something simple. I -was- going to do a snow Escher room first but then... then... Yes.

I thought it appropriate for him to cuss in a comical situation, trying to say the most improper word too, but since he's all frosty, it came out as more 'OO' than a 'u'.
