Entry for the_labyrinth_club's Seasons contest; winter, obviously. Painted in PhotoShop using two reference photos: The Labyrinth movie still for the background, and movie still from the crystal ball scene. Jareth's costume is not identical to the ballroom scene -- I couldn't find a shot with a clear view so I composed something in the same style.EDIT April 2, 2010: I won, I won, I won!

My first thought was that he turned her into snow/ice. But why would he do such a thing? Then I thought, maybe it's just a representation of how cold she can be? Uh, might be a lame thing to say, but the image is beautiful. It's nice finding stuff like this.

Makes you think! Why is Sarah composed of snow and\or ice? Perhaps because she remains chill and immovable by Jareth's overwhelming charm and magic and devices... Jareth is the only colorful, warm thing in this piece. He looks lonely as the dancer with the ice.

Hee! Thanks! I have to admit that it's one of my personal favourites of my own art too. Sometimes it just goes -right-. Usually when it's something very simple that you never expected to turn into much. And then you work 70 hours on something really awesome and complex and it turns out -- blah.

A beautiful idea! I agree with what Aiijun said--it's sweet and sad. Jareth looks so serious and in love, and Snow-Sarah looks so real. I'd love to see a counterpart picture of Sarah dancing with a Snow-Jareth...just a thought

I would do something that involves peaches- I think that 'Sarah's tramautized and can never eat a peach again' is kind of ridiculous. This is gorgeous, by the way. I love it.

I always had the opposite impression, namely that that ballroom was one of the -good- memories, and peaches would remind her of it.
