Yep. We certainly are. After all the Israelites dancing is mentioned several times in the bible. Some of our friends have held some formal dances. However, we are careful about never dancing in a provocative manor.

Ah, that makes more sense. My mom's mom apparently was from a strict church that thought dancing and playing cards was bad.

There are people so choose not to have dancing at their parties just to be on the safe side. But it is certainly not forbidden. We just have to remember that Christians need to be modest.
As for cards, gambling itself is a thing the scriptures friend upon. So playing for keeps would be gambling. As for just playing with friends it is certainly not condemned. But there are some individuals who's conscience feels that cards in general are gambling too. And if it bothers them its totally okay. But most people I know are fine playing cards, and honestly really like to.
