Oh wow! This looks like it came out of a storybook! o.o The poses, the expressions, THE SHARK!! O^O That's a really great shark, looks terrifying.. Nice job

I certainly wasn't expecting this, but I'm always 'fan-girling' over your Pirates! fan art, so this is great, as always Love the sketchy line art and coloring, too. And may I just say, Charles keeps getting cuter and cuter every time you draw him, and you really nailed Scarf here! ^-^

Aw!  Thanks!  Heh...I was a little proud of that shark.    Never drew one before...at least not one that didn't just look like a fish with sharp teeth.

I just watched Pirate's with a friend the other night and remembered that I wanted to do this picture.  This was actually the pic I wanted to do the most from that story but for the LONGEST time I couldn't get the pose right.  So I was just doodling a bit last night and it kind of worked itself out.

So glad you like the look of it!  I can't believe you noticed!  I used a new Photoshop brush, one that's a little rougher.  I thought it might make it look a little more like a traditional piece.

Wow, really? o.o I hate it when some drawings never turn out the way you hoped it would…until you finally get it right for the 34th time But this really came out great

Yeah! It's different, but I like it :3 I might have that brush floating around somewhere. Yes, it really does look more traditional!

AAH!  I forgot Scarf's earring!  I'll fix it now.

Yeah, if you have Photoshop you should have that brush.  It's under the Dry Brush section.

well female great whites(is that the right kind of shark?) are larger and have scars on their dorsal fins if that's helpful at all

Oh my god, this was my favourite moment in the story! I was so hoping you'd draw Scarf being all heroic I love the expressions.

Heh.  Just because Scarf is the most cautious of the pirates doesn't mean he's a coward.  He may not be as reckless as the Captain but he's certainly just as brave.

Oh, undoubtedly. Possibly even more so. People who are sensible tend to know and weigh up the risks, but a sensible person who risks all despite the odds is a gem ^^
