"What?" Your voice sounds small and weak as you choke back a sob.

"I'm sorry. Don't leave." You look back at Cronus. His fins are lowered and his lip is jutted out in a pout. He's cute, but you can't risk it. Not again. Never.

"It doesn't feel right without you. I can't sleep. I smoke more often. When I'm around you, I can't speak."

Cronus smiles and pulls you into a hug. He smelled of beer but the faint scent of axe and hair gel still lingered.

You smile, glad to be back in his warm embrace. Once he sobers up things will be twice as good.
