Silicone and then we cast with a 2 part resin.

I'm not sure of the exact type cos we ordered it in bulk with our class. but i'm pretty sure its just normal casting silicone with a 10% catalyst

They're in the process of being made! they're the last set we've been working on. We kind of worked backwards

oh awesome! the cascade badge was always my fav and I wished I could have badges. maybe sometime I will be able to have kanto and johto. those were always my fav regions and I started off in there so go figure.

Yeah kanto will always be something special to me too! I still love the old games! Although I am quite fond of Unova's myself!

I had issues with unova. I liked the gyms and the concept but I disliked the pokemon themself and Ghetsis. I felt like he was overpowered.

Firstly we made them from foamex (a type of condensed foam board- images of which can be seen in our gallery) and then we cast them in silicone and then we use a two part resin to get the result you see here.

Those seem like great sizes, having them be that smaller size makes finding a pretty case to carry and display them in easier. (like an eyeglass case).
Maybe you could make a limited run of tin badges? Don't know how that would affect the molds though heh

I have some aluminium powder that i can dust the molds with, it gives them a metal look when you sand the resin!
Was thinking about doing some limited edition ones.

Glad to see some high quality badges, now I can stop sculpting mine since I'm guessing you guys are going to make all of them eventually
I didn't know you could make molds out of foam that thin, thought it would warp somehow but they look great!
How big are they, I can't tell their scale. I think an inch and a half or less would work perfectly but I guess making them bigger would let them display better on a shelf or something.

these ones are about 25mm in length and 3mm thickness. Our Unova badges are 40mm in height and again 3mm thickness.
we do have them all made at this stage but I'm only getting around to prepping them for painting!
