He had run after this insufferable thing for what seemed like days. He was covered in mud, heavy, and sick of it. By the time the thing jumped off the ledge, he was ready to go back to his home. He never really knew why he jumped in after it, but as he did the hatred for the thing faded a bit. The feel of the water was relaxing, despite his weakness while in it. He felt kind of ... different as he emerged from the pit and strode onward.
