I had a convo with Quantum Chickpea days ago about some childhood shows that reminded us of Love Square, then I told her about an old anime Pygmalio (or Pygmalion on some dubs) that I really love when I was a kid. And as I recalled the storyline, I couldn’t help but noticed how similar the main characters, Coult and Orie, to Adrinette.

Aside from the appearances, their personalities and backstories are kinda similar. Coult longed for his mom just like how Adrien longed for Emilie. Orie is a pretty Princess yet badass like Marinette. Also, other characters have ML counterparts too - like Leon, a lizard who turned out to be a dragon, is as sweet as Tikki, and Armageddon, an eyeball monster who loves wine the same way as Plagg who loves camembert. The main villain Medusa? She was later on revealed to be related to Coult.

By the way, Coult and Orie are actually 8 years old (both manga and anime), and while these two aged-up on one episode, they went naked there 😂

It began when Coult got injured and for him to recover completely, he had to consume something to become an adult. I couldn’t remember the exact interactions but Orie had to turn herself into an adult too so she can heal Coult. So there was an adult!Coult unconscious and naked on the bed, and an adult!Orie stripping herself naked and lying beside him until sunrise.

And that was how Coult fell in love with adult!Orie without knowing that it was Orie, his good friend, all along 😂😂😂
