Description Finally the next cover for ShellShock is done!

This has been painted over the course of two livestreams, and was immensely fun to do. I haven't drawn Ratchet in a very long time in a manner that constitutes actual painting, so I was glad to see how it turned out.

Wow. That's a long time ago. There's hope for me yet!

Either way, this painting will be available as a print at Vienna Comic Con, and if some people are interested, I'll put it up on redbubble as well. Thanks to everyone who came to my livestream! I really enjoyed doing this, and hanging out with some of my sweetest watchers I could ever ask for. Thank you for 10 years!

Wonderful oh my gosh! your soft style rules. Any brush set in particular? Photoshop CC update deleted all of the presets from CS6 and I'm retrieving some useful ones T.T

Oh geez, that's a compliment I haven't heard before yet! <3 Thank you so much. I wanted to go for a portrait that is a still with an ethereal feeling. Kind of as if you're intruding on a sacred moment. And thank you!!! I always have trouble with hands and perspective, so I'm super glad they turned out slender XD; Shapeshifter hands are supposed to be pretty, after all.

I love the use of color in this piece! It's a great new cover for Shellshock! Vaguely reminiscent of the previous, yet original in its own right. The expression and lighting are positively stunning. The use of light and shade really give definition, and the soft coloring of the brushes is really nice!

Ooooh why thank you, SpaceCat! I'm glad you like it. Yeah, when I started sketching out this painting, I realized that somewhere in my stash I still had this old drawing that at the very least had the same posture for Ratchet, and I just wanted to compare what they looked like. It's funny how it ended up being almost a redraw!
Thanks for the comment on the expression - I had some difficulties getting the emotionally dead, but still somehow alive look right. Shading and Lighting are my game!

Hehehe, yeah, I'm surprised myself!!! I mean, I was convinced that my improvement is really slow, but upon seeing this, it's actually quite comforting and inspiring! I have to say though, the style part is still a conundrum to me - like, I sometimes wonder what my style actually is, like the actual trademarks and such. Maybe other people notice it much easier than oneself!
