This is really great, Chip. The tonal range is definitely a lot better, and I love how clear Vera's expression is.
The only thing that bothers me is that the light in the upper right is really bright and catches my attention more than Vera's face. You'll want to drop that a bit more since I know you wanted Vera's face as the point of interest.

And the perspective is off and Vera's hand is way bright in the shadows there XD
I have a to-do list on this thing!
