Broadside and Tidal Wave come into mind when it comes to Cybertronian Aircraft Carriers. The Helicarrier could be an alternate mode for either one.

I believe it would be too big. If the 'carrier were one singular entity, even with the capability of flight, where would Shield go without endangering human lives? As an Autobot, her first priority would be to ensure the safety of the local indigenous population. I'm just saying. Multiple bots to combine into one big unit is the most sensible course of action here.
