I'm so happy to have finally finished this piece! I'm honestly IN LOVE with this game so expect a lot more fan art to come from me!

I knew about this game from you (tbh I am not a gamer or something) but saw some info-gameplay etc and I sooo have mixed emotions and opinions about this one , like it's been a while since I seen something what makes me feel so mixed about anything in general

Honestly I highly suggest the game!
I'm not so sure that you'll be a fan of the games art style but I think it really suits the games feel and story!
I personally love the characters and I fine the game both fun and heart wrenching!

I never play games , always just watched others playing since like childhood haha , never felt the urge to play myself anything ever? But tbh the art style is something I have mixed feelings about like I think it's unique, I never really seen anything like that before in a game especially these days. I am bored of the all perfectly drawn and looking character kinda stuff sometimes? but at the same time tbh I find this art style a little bit odd?
I don't know , maybe I don't get some small unneccessary details which possibly doesnt matter or happened for the sake of edgelordness but a lot of acid burn survivor women in our real world not wear a face mask, and actually some had the chance to get plastic surgery recovery so I just don't get the mask?

The only game that I know that could be considered to have a similar style is Fran Bow and they are both similar game in how they play and their off adventure horror aspects ^^
I am not a huge fan of the style outside of the context of the game but I do feel if the game was drawn in a conventionally pretty style it would have hurt more than helped!
I think it was a way to help the main character to stand out but people actually do use prosthetic masks today!
For some people the surgeries needed on the face are too expensive or not possible.
Some people can grow them selves a new nose through skin graph related surgeries and some people can get face transplants but face transplants are super rare to my knowledge.
But basically the main character is missing his nose, part of his lips, and a chunk of his jaw as well as an eye. There is probably loads of scarring too. ( You don't see his whole face yet in the game. Also he was attacked by a dog! )
The story also takes place in the 1990s so our medical abilities when it came to this issue were not as good as they are now!
This image below is actually a prosthetic mask, the style of which became common in WW2 I think? Basically Sal's mask is more like this one but full face!

WARNING - The image also shows what she looks like without the mask and she is not bloody but I know disfigurements can be kinda scary for some people so I wanted to give the heads up!

I am absolutely not horrified about seeing people with disfigurements, I am more of angry if it's because of an accident or because of abuse. Indeed Sal's mask is based on the older versions and it was added for the horror-edgyesqueness and actually this time it fits. I just wonder how he would looked like if he actually had a full on plastic surgery and such?
Also I envy how in this universe natural sky blue hair is a thing.
