Description

They had to stop him... The island of Berk depended on the riders and their dragons to end this before it was too late. Chishio was gonna do her part.

"Ditch! Dirt! Let's ride," Chishio called as she ran into the stable, grabbing her saddle, her quiver and bow strung across her back. The two-headed dragon quickly met her at the barn door, waiting to be mounted. The sense of urgency even had Ditch on her best behavior. Chishio threw the saddle over Dirt's neck and cinched it down. Grabbing her buckler, the girl mounted up. Valda, the young Monstrous Nightmare came out of the barn, looking to Chishio with wonder. "Stay here, Valda... Meade will watch out for you." She nodded over to the tiny dragonmouse who was standing on an upside down pail next to the old barn. He squeaked in response, and hovered over to the hatchling. Valda snorted, looking from Meade back to her owner. The look of stone she gave told Chishio that Valda had a desire to go. "We'll be back," Chishio promised the dragon. "Don't worry. Come on, Dirt, let's go!"

With that, the Zippleback took to the air, flying out to the forest on the outskirts of dirt. The alarm had been sounded... The "Black Fire" had found its way to Berk, and was laying waste to the animals of the forest. It wouldn't be long and it would take advantage of the livestock as well. The riders had to stop him before it was too late. Unfortunately, darkness was falling fast. Finding the beast would be difficult, and then fighting him in darkness... The odds were not so good.

"Let's head down there." Chishio pointed to a small clearing in the woods. Ditch and Dirt tilted downward, heading toward the intended location. As they pulled themselves into a hover to come down for a land, something very large snapped! in the surrounding trees. Ditch and Dirt halted their descent, hovering just over the ground as they beat their wings to stay above. Chishio pulled her buckler tight on to her arm, held one hand firmly on Dirt's horn. "Easy guys," she whispered as the sound of cracking and crashing became louder. The creature was moving through the trees... coming in closer to the pair. Ditch growled lowly, her eyes intently watching in the direction of the sound, her tail swishing in agitation.

Then, suddenly, the sounds stopped. All fell quiet.
A roar from ahead caused Dirt to yelp in surprise and fear. "Easy, Dirt! Hold your ground!"
The sound of wings was unmistakable, and against the starry backdrop of the sky, Chishio could make out the dark shape of an oncoming dragon. Quickly, the girl slung her bow out and drew an arrow, loading her bow. Lifting it up to aim at the creature, she drew the string back and with one deep breath, let her arrow fly. She heard a thwunk as the arrow hit the beast, and the creature roared, but his attack did not stop. Instead... his entire body lit on fire as he came tearing toward the dragon and rider.

"Up, up, up!!!"
Ditch took over, as Dirt was frozen with fear, and thrusted their wings hard enough to send them back up in to the sky, the great flaming beast swooping underneath them, leaving the dragon and rider unscathed. "Let's light him up," Chishio said, watching the beast as he regrouped to attack once more. Ditch let out what appeared to be a laugh-like growl, while Dirt looked very concerned at her sister... She was enjoying this far too much!
