It was the obvious. It was the thing everypony expected. It was so clear that it was my destiny. If I did that I would definitely get my cutie mark, they said. I did exactly what I had to do.. And I did it like I always had done. If did everything right, then why did I fail?Entry for 's contest "I guess this isn't my special talent".Β
Haven't you ever wondered if what most of us believe the CMC's special talents to be (singing, acrobatics/scooting, building/fixing things) may not be their talents after all? That it's just things they enjoy doing and that their talents are completely different?
And every time you shout at the TV while watching these fillies failing getting their cutie marks think this, what if they already have tried singing/scooting/fixing stuff a long time ago and failed? Do you really think they are that oblivious? Maybe they are, maybe they're not. Who knows.

Yup. No one really knows what the writers wants to do with their talents. Maybe they give the CMC something entirely different than what's hinted at, or cutie marks that are similar, like they have the same destiny. Helping other fillies and colts getting their cutie marks, maybe?

I think it would be really interesting if Sweetie Belle's was magic and then Twilight trained her or something. There are times when Sweetie wasn't very good at singing.
Scootaloo does really seem like She's good at doing things on her Scooter.
