Description
Preface:Anna was frantically wandering around her plush LA home, knowing that in 15 minutes she would have a guest. To calm her nerves, she had already dipped into her first bottle of wine, and was currently sipping through her second glass as she wandered back into the kitchen to check on the oven, which contained a rather basic barbecued chicken recipe that she had gotten from her mother, and prayed to God she hadn't ruined.
"Well, it's not on fire, so I'll take that as a win...." She huffed to herself as she closed the oven door and grabbed her wine glass, taking another swig, fueling the small buzz she was already carrying.
Walking back out to her living room, she looked to make sure everything was cleaned up, or clean enough. "Ok, take a breath girl... You can do this..." She said firmly to herself, as she tipped back another sip of the sweet Pink Moscato to calm her nerves.
Part 2:
"Wow... This place is gorgeous..." Abbi said as she sat outside Anna's Los Angeles home, looking at it from the driveway. "5:58.... I'm even early, barely." She applauded herself as she opened the door and hefted out of the decent-sized Red Crossover with minimal struggle.
Once outside, she closed the door and pulled down on her t-shirt, which was cute but maybe just on the edge of fitting properly, just to make sure she didn't walk up to the door with her belly hanging out. That was a second impression you didn't come back from, in her mind.
Plodding up the driveway to the front door, Abbi's mind swirled with the reality of her situation. Reaching the door, she pressed the doorbell, and took a deep breath. "No biggie... Just about to walk into Anna Kendrick's house for dinner..." She thought to herself, resisting the urge to both fangirl and freak out, simultaneously.
A few moments later, the door opened, and a much more dressed-down Anna beckoned her to come inside. "You're early!" She teased as the massive brunette plodded though the door, "Dinners not quite ready yet.... I appoligize. My cooking skills aren't as good as my singing skills."
"That's ok, I'm still pretty full from dinner..." She politely answered, not mentioning the snacking she did in the car, purely out of habit.
"Ok, awesome. Can I get you anything to drink?" She asked, motioning for her to enter the living room. "Please, make yourself at home, sit down, get comfy, turn on the PS4 if you want." She said happily, motioning to the device sitting under her TV.
"Tempting offer, but I think I'll just take a seat, but I wouldn't mind a glass of something... What do you have?" She asked as she lumbered over and turned to sit down on the couch, giving the slightly tipsy Anna a few seconds to get a "different view" of the massive Abbi.
Anna's gaze lingered a little too long, and she caught herself. "Oh, sorry.... Must be the wine." She said, trying to laugh it off as she walked further into the room. "I have Juice, Soda, and just about every kind of wine and alcohol you can think of." She said as she picked up the TV remote and handed it to her.
"I'll take a glass of what you're having. Is that a Pink Moscato?" She asked curiously, a bit surprised by the hospitality.
"Sure is.... Lemme go see what I can get... I may have had a glass or two already..." She admitted with a smirk before turning around and meandering to the kitchen.... This time giving Abbi the view to envy. As Anna rounded the corner into her kitchen, she put her glass down and slumped over on the counter-top for a second.
"Keep it together, Kendrick.... This isn't like you...." She mumbled to herself, before looking up at the back of the counter. After another couple moments, she reached up, grabbed another wine glass, and poured a glass for Abbi, then topped off her own.
"Here you go, Abigail." She said with a smile as she wandered back into view, and handed her a glass.
"Thanks Anna, and please, call be Abbi. My friends call me Abbi." She said sweetly, taking the glass and taking a sip. "Ohmigod, this is the best Pink I've ever had." She cheerily announced before taking another sip.
"I know, right?" Anna said, buzz really starting to come on. Anna went to sit down beside her on the couch, but stop. "Wait, do you mind if I sit here?" She asked, knowing it sounded silly and all, but she didn't wanna smother the girl.
"Of course, it's your house." She said with a chuckle as she took another sip. Anna smiled and plopped down on the couch, turned sideways to face her, wine still in hand. "Well, looks like we still have a few minutes until what I hope is an edible dinner is ready.... Do you have any questions for me? Anything you've been dying to hear me talk about? God... That sounded vain." She half-joked, nervously adding to her buzz with another sip.
"Oh I have several questions... But I don't think you'd have the time...." Abbi quipped back with a smirk, taking another sip herself, as the very beginnings of a buzz started to rattle through her system.
"Alright then, I'll make you a deal. Question for question. You ask, I ask." Anna offered. "Just because I may be a bit nosey too..."
"Fair enough. But I promise you.... I'm pretty boring..." Abbi answered cheerfully, but honestly.
"I'll be the judge of that.." Anna quipped with a smirk. "Alright, to be fair, you first Abbi." She offered, taking another swig.
"Hmmmmm... Decisions, decision....." She thought to herself before her eyes went wide. "Ok, I'm sure I'm the 5 Millionth person to ask this.... But.... To you...without all the buzz, and fanfare, and the crowd-pleasing.... Bechloe, or Jeca?"
Anna looked at her, raised her glass to her lips to take another drink, then gave her a wide grin. "Bechloe.... Everytime." She answered, a small part of her mind wondering if there was any subtext attached, but she still meant the answer. "I tend to like things a little less 'traditional', so having something like Bechloe out there is just awesome... And the fan-base, as long as they don't get too crazy.... Is awesome. Have you seen some of the fan-fics and photoshops? I mean seriously, I had to remember if I was actually in that scene with Brittany, somewhere."
Abbi smiled and looked down at her glass. "Oh I have.... Trust me." She said cryptically before taking another drink.
Anna smirked and started to think of her first question. After a few seconds, her eyes lit up and she pulled the glass away from her face. "Ok, here's mine: you said at lunch that you were the size you were by choice? I guess, and please don't take this at ALL judgingly, but why? And what does your family think? Are they all heavy too?" She started to Vesuvius. "Sorry, that was like four questions." She added before nervously going back to sipping her wine, the glass near-empty.
"Well... That's a complex, and kind of strange answer to tell some people... So I'm sorry if I stumble through it, or make you think I'm a freak by the end of it..." She nervously started, her own buzz not strong enough to cut away her personal tension with answering this question to her idol.
"Abbi, it's ok, trust me, I don't judge. You could tell me you grew up wanting to be a circus fat lady... And it wouldn't change my opinion of you, at all." Anna reassured her, wanting to reach out and make contact with her to show the reassurance, but her mind luckily stopped her before she awkwardly reached out towards her.
"Well, I suppose you're not entirely wrong," Abbi began, taking another drink to help her get through the explanation. "I guess if explain it like this: you know how certain people are attracted to a certain hair-color? Or certain people are attracted to certain genders? I guess mines not that different... I'm just attracted... To fat. And fat people. Namely women, if we're being completely honest. Not exclusively fat women, but it's certainly a plus on any woman I'm crushing on."
"Wait... So that's a thing? I'm sorry, I'm not trying to demean it, at all, I guess I just didn't know it was an established 'thing'," she said as leaned into the back of the couch and took a sip.
"Yup, and to answer the rest of your question, yes my family is all heavy, but no, they don't share my preferences. Trust me, every family gathering I get some kind of well-meaning lecture if I look like I've gained weight... Which I probably have, just being honest. I'm not exactly trying to lose it."
"So, you're actually trying to get... Fatter?" She asked, before correcting herself, "sorry, bigger."
"No, it's ok, I actually LOVE the word fat," Abbi corrected Anna as she polished off her first glass, "it's actually a compliment to me for someone to say how fat I am... Which sounds kinda weird to some, but it is what it is." She finished with a shrug.
"You want another glass?" Anna asked, on top of things.
"Sure, but I can go get it, besides, shouldn't I be the one getting things for you?" She asked semi-jokingly.
"Not today you aren't... You start tomorrow. Today, you're my guest." Anna warmly stated as she hefted up to take her glass. "I'll be right back... Your question when I get back." She added with a smile as she sauntered off to the kitchen.
Anna poured two more glasses, then chucked the bottle into the recycling bin under her sink. "One bottle down..." She said with a smirk as she walked back in and handed Abbi back her glass.
"Alright, whatcha got for me?" Anna asked as she plopped back on the couch and got situated.
"Ok, I have one... What's the one thing you hate about being famous?" Abbi asked.
"Oh, I can only say one?" She replied with a smirk. "Nah, it's not that bad.... But it definitely has some drawbacks." She continued, looking at the glass then back up to her. "Well, there's the crazy fans, the constant photographing of my every move... But those are answers you'd expect, so I'll give another one.." She rambled on as she tried to phrase her answer delicately.
"Honestly, I hate the body double-standard. I hate that I have to eat -20 carbs a week if I want to stay relevant.... And I hate that I can't be as successful as I am now, and look like you do.... I'm sorry, I didn't mean that as rude, I'm sorry... I've gotta stop doing that." She stammered on.
"Anna, it's ok." She reassured. "Trust me... I know what you mean. I can't tell you how many times I've almost wished for a celebrity as popular as you... To be, and stay, as big as I am."
"Ha, I wish that was even remotely possible...." Anna said as she took a swig. "The second it is, I'm gonna cancel my gym membership and move into a bakery..." She joked.
"I can't say I'd hate that..." Abbi let slip. Immediately, her face went red, even redder then the wine in her hands. "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have said that."
Anna smiled, and this time went against her instincts and reached out and touched her arm. "Abbi, it's ok. I won't judge you, remember?" She said, lightly rubbing her upper-arm.
"But that does make me curious...." She started to ask, the wine maybe making her inhibitions start to evaporate, along with her nerves. "If you're a big fan of me.... And you're a big fan of wanting celebrities that look more like you.... Have you ever.... Y'know... Combined the two?"
Abbi's eyes went wide, and her face went from beet red to stark-white. She was petrified, and terrified to answer, even though her face was giving her away.
"I'm gonna take that as a yes." She said with a grin as she took another sip.
"Wait, so that doesn't freak you out?" She asked, words a bit choked back.
"Psh, honey, I spend everyday getting ridiculed for not being 'thin enough'... I think I can be happy that someone thinks I need to PUT ON weight." She replied, taking another sip. "I mean come on... Not having to work out and waste hours at a gym and still be appreciated? Why didn't I get in on that earlier..."
"... Earlier?" Abbi asked, a bit confused.
Anna covered her mouth, face turning a similar color of red that Abbi's was moments earlier. "Ummmmm.... Well.... Yeah..... I may have had some things.... Things that got choked out of my mind by years of living and working in Hollywood, and a thin-obsessed world."
Abbi just stared at her in disbelief. "Ok.... This can't be real. Where's the camera? Is Ashton gonna jump out or something? This just.... Can't be real." She said, too dumbfounded to accept it.
"I'm being serious Abbi," she said, looking down at her glass, a bit reserved, "I just chalked it up to being a weird kid who wanted to eat instead of looking 'pretty'... So I just kinda kept it in my head.... Then one day, it was gone. Completely gone." Anna explained, the alcohol helping open her up to just pouring out the dark corners of her soul to this woman she had bonded with, after an afternoon.
"Well, if you had forgotten about it.... What made you remember it?...." Abbi asked.
Anna sloshed around her nearly-empty glass, then looked up at her, not saying a word.
"Wait, me?" Abbi asked, head spinning from more things then the glass and a half of wine she had consumed.
"Yeah.... Sorry, I know this sounds super weird, and I can't even wrap my head around it either... But I literally just saw you walk up, and something just 'clicked'. Of course it's been so long I've pretty much forgotten about all of it. So all I could do is just listen, and try to not look like too much of an idiot as my head was trying to make sense of it all." Anna rambled.
"Oh my God.... I just.... I couldn't have written this any better..." She said, before catching herself and covering it.
"You wrote about me? About me getting fat?" Anna asked, raising an eyebrow, trying to look worried, but the wine and feeling in the room couldn't make her hold the gaze.
".... Maybe. Sorry, this is just super embarrassing. I figured you would freak out and try to sue me if you had ever stumbled across it...." She explained, nearly about to pass out from all the revelations of the day.
"Nah, if anything... I'd be intrigued to read what you wrote...." She plainly admitted.
"Maybe after I get a few more drinks in me.... I have a huge wall of paranoia to get over before I start showing you my fat-fics." She replied, taking a sip.
"Well, I can certainly supply the booze...." Anna teased, when the conversation was cut short by the oven timer.
"Well, here goes nothing..." Anna groaned as she set her glass down on the coffee-table, and plodded off to the kitchen to check her attempt at dinner.
"Well, I've seen worse..." She groaned as she threw on oven mitts and pulled it out of the oven, sitting it on the counter-too to cool.
"How much do you want?" She called out, grabbing the plates from the cupboard above her head.
"Oh I can serve myself, really Anna... You don't have to..." She replied as she sat her glass down and started to lurch forward, the depth of the couch making it more difficult than usual.
Anna poked her head out from around the corner and tried to give her a stern look. "Abbi, you stay put, you're the guest tonight. Let me take care of you." She said, finger-wagging her with a semi-stern, semi-smirking look on her face.
"Yes ma'am." She said obediently, with a smirk back, as she sat back in the chair, causing the couch to groan audibly under her. "Don't break Anna Kendrick's couch, don't break Anna Kendrick's couch..." She muttered to herself as she exhaled and got comfortable, taking the remote from the end-table beside her and turning on the TV.
"Anything good on?" Anna called out as she was plating up some door for each of them. Abbi flipped through the channels, a bit zoned out. "Nothing really..." She said with a bit of a groan, easing back a bit more into the chair, causing her shirt to ride up, allowing more of her ample middle to ooze out into view, unbeknownst to her.
"Well, we can order a movie or something. Go ahead and pick one, I'm not too choosy..." She called out as she put the utensil back in the pan of barbecued chicken and went to grab forks.
"Ok, maybe one rule," she added with a bit of a sigh, "if you pick a movie I'm in... Give me some warning." She added with a bit of a chuckle.
"You got it..." Abbi replied as she cruised through the selections, ranging anywhere from Action movies to mushy Rom-Com's, and everything in between.
"What looks good?" Anna asked as she walked out with a plate in each hand, and a bottle of wine stuck under her left armpit so she could carry it to the living room.
Once Anna's eyes focused, she saw the young woman sprawled out on the couch, shirt riding up to expose some of her expansive middle. "Oh my..." She thought to herself, face flushing as she took in the view of the massive young woman. "I'm really losing it.... Keep it together girl, keep it together..." She muttered under her breath.
"What was that, Anna?" Abbi asked as she focused on the flustered brunette frozen in place mid-room. "Oh, nothing.. Just reminding myself of... Something I have to take care of... Later." She stammered out, trying to play it cool.
"Oh, ok." Abbi said as she sat up straight, finally noticing the shirt had shifted up, exposing some skin. Abbi looked at her, and pressing her luck decided to tease back. "Enjoy the view?" She asked with a smirk.
"Maybe.... Maybe I do." She tried to quip back, but her bravado for it had melted away, and all she could do was admit to it, then wander back over and hand her the plate of food, which easily dwarfed Anna's smaller but not-to-shabby portion.
Abbi just smiled and took the fork. "This looks pretty good, Anna. Thanks." She said appreciatively as she cut off a piece of chicken and skewered it.
"Thanks, cooking isn't exactly my speciality.... But I thought I'd try, for once..." She replied, maybe a bit too intent on watching and getting Abbi's opinion before trying the food herself.
"Y'know, I wouldn't mind teaching you a thing or two in the kitchen." She said as she looked up at Anna, who quickly broke her gaze and sat down, taking the bottle of wine and uncorking it, pouring herself another glass.
"I just may take you up on that.... Just don't try anything funny..." She said with a bit of a slurred giggle. "Oh I'd never..." Abbi said semi-seriously. "Last thing id wanna do is sabotage your career... I'd be out of a job!" She declared with a sarcastic grin.
"And I thought you loved me?!" She retorted back, playfully pushing on the behemoth woman. The pair both stopped, looked at each other, and both looked away, knowingly.
After a few moments of silence as the pair settled into watching TV and eating, Anna broke the silence. "How's it taste?" She asked, pleasantly surprised with herself, from her own taste buds.
"It's pretty good, I'm impressed." Abbi complimented happily, as she took another bite. ".... I may actually need more. But it's ok, I can go get some."
"Abbi, no, you won't." Anna said, her rising intoxication and nerves starting to show in her demeanor. "Remember what I said? Today, I'm taking care of you... And that's that." She reminded her, nicely but firmly. "And by the way.... It's still your question."
"Well I did ask if you enjoyed the view..." She reminded her.
"Doesn't count." She said with a slurred smile.
"Ok, I have a question.... Why are you drinking so much?" She asked, purely out of curiousity.
"Damn... I should have just let you count the other one..." She half-muttered as she looked at the glass.
"It's ok Anna, you don't have to answer..." She assured her, "I was just nervous it's because you're uncomfortable or something.
"Oh I am certainly uncomfortable, but not for the reason you may think.." She let slip, covering her mouth in embarassment. "Omigod. I need to stop, before I just ruin everything." She added, looking over at her in a lax, but worried state.
"Anna, what's going on? You can be honest with me. And I'm pretty sure I won't freak out unless you try to stab me with that fork..." She replied, turning the caring tables on the starlet.
"No, it's just... It'll make me look really crazy... And God knows what'll happen after I say it...." She stammered as she took another big drink and let out a large sigh. "Promise you won't get mad or freak out?" She asked, looking over at Abbi.
"Anna, I promise." She assured her, reaching out and giving her the supportive tap on the arm.
"Ok, for a lot of reasons I am still trying to process... I wasn't 100% truthful with you about the first meeting today...." She started, "... When I said I was just impressed with how you looked, and that it kind of awoke something in me.... That was all true... But it wasn't all of it..." She kept explaining, her words getting choppy and her face getting a bit panicky.
"So.... What didn't you tell me?" She asked curiously, albeit a bit panicky herself.
"You promise you won't freak?" She repeated, again.
"Promise." She said.
"Abbi.... I think I have a crush on you...." She said. "God, I sound like I'm 12..."
Abbi just froze. It took every ounce of strength in her body to process what she just heard. Every drop. "Wait, what!?" She finally uttered, still beyond believing what she heard. "Me? You?..... Why?" She finally stammered out.
"I.... I don't know.... I just.... Felt something. Something I haven't felt in a LONG time." She admitted. "So, you're not gonna freak out and call some magazine or anything, right?" She asked, trying to be comedic and cut away a bit of the tension.
"Yeah.... I'm fine... I just need a minute... To process what I just heard...." She answered, still in a bit of a haze. "It takes a minute to comprehend that a woman you all but idolize is crushing on you." She admitted with the first hints of emotion returning to her face in the form of a small smile.
"I can imagine..." She said as she took a deep breath and recomposed herself a bit more. "So...." She tried to continue nervously, "does that change anything, now that you know?"
Abbi put down her glass. "Well, it just might....." She started to explain as she repositioned herself to face sideways too, a feat that took considerably more effort, "... But I guess it all depends on what YOU want to do about what you just told me. I mean, if this helps.... I am SUPER single, and would pretty much say yes before you finished the third syllable.... And none of that super-fast talking from "Rocket Science"... I'm too tipsy." She teased.
Anna just cracked a smile. "Well, Abbi.... How about I make you a deal.... How about for the rest of the day.... We don't add a label to it. Just do what comes naturally, knowing what you know now." She suggested. "We can just have fun, and enjoy each other's company right now... I'm sorry... That sounded terrible... Maybe..."
"Anna, it's ok, I understand." Abbi said as she cut her off. "I trust that you're being sincere.... But like you said.... Hollywood is fickle. I can just imagine the tabloid headlines with you and me on them... "Anna and the Whale"...." She quipped off the top of her head with a smirk. "At least I'd prolly laugh at most of them."
Anna finished off her glass and sat it down on the coffee-table. "You are incredible." She said, as she started to scoot closer. "Do you mind? This is all... Pretty uncharted waters for me... So I'm just gonna kinda go with it. Tell me if it makes you uncomfortable?" She asked.
"Go ahead Anna, trust me..... This is the culmination of a few dozen mental fantasies, so I have 0 desire to stop you." She admitted, letting it just be "real" in her head.
After a bit of struggling, Anna pulled her other leg up onto the couch, and just laid herself on Abbi, nestling in like she was a bed. "So soft..... And warm..." The inebriated Anna mumbled.
Abbi was literally in heaven. A thousand feelings whirled through her head as she sat there staring at the TV, taking it all in. "I'm glad you approve..." She replied back softly, not needing to be too loud since she was literally inches from her.
But the talking was in vain. Anna had already passed out on the massive pillow of a woman, a small smile on her face.
"Sweet dreams Anna.... We can figure the rest of this out when you wake up.." She thought to herself as she carefully put an arm around the passed-out starlet, causing her to stir momentarily until she resettled, enveloped in the warmth that surrounded her.
