Someone asked what the Nu Mou version of Hyden was up to... Probably studying up on forbidden magic and making enemies--typical Hyden stuff!

I honestly can't remember all the backstory specifics of his original Nu Mou incarnation. I mostly just daydreamed aimlessly about him getting into various kinds of trouble... particularly trouble that involved getting taken captive or beaten up a little bit hahahaha...

Near as I can recall, his most consistent backstory was that he'd stolen some sort of powerful magical artifact and made some very powerful enemies in the process, resulting in a huge bounty being put on his head and a narrowly-escaped scuffle that resulted in his magic getting sealed. Now powerless and in hiding from the clans looking to claim his bounty, he spun some sort of lie to convince one particular clan to take him in and protect him rather than turning him in.

In exchange, he led them on some sort of quest that he promised would lead to great magical treasures. Of course, his intent was to find a way to unseal his powers, backstab them, and take everything for himself once they got there.

You may recognize a couple of those plot beats as loosely aligning with his Amaranthine story.
