Description
My final turnout for the second major assignment in Color and Design, the "mood" assignment. Taken place in my original series "Dark Souls" it's the parents of my OC's Tomma, Coe, and Yoko, looking out to the sunset in a relaxed state unknowing of what's to come. Oh and what a fate does await them.Only got a C on this assignment, but then again, as stated with my previous major assignment, cold-press illustration-board just doesn't seem to like me. (Although I can't quite say that was the only reason either). @_@ Seems I have trouble creating a "mood" with color. :sigh:
Ah well, I suppose I can't do much more then keep on trying right?

love the idea but yeah, the mood could be pushed. a simple way to do this is to mix the same color (of the mood u wanna portray ie blue=sad) into all of your local colors (with various levels of intensity)..as you get used to it you can try adding slight amounts of the mood color's complimentary color in areas you want the viewer to look. try it out on mini-size pictures like the roughs you did in class, say 6x8. after some practice you will begin to see a difference, along with studying pixar movies. keep it up

I like gouache as a garnish, but doing a whole painting with it....x.x especially the way we're taught at Academy, it makes if very difficult to LIKE gouache. My all-goauche paintings from color and design were horrible. x.x The only piece I liked was my mandala. >.< I have that in my dA gallery somewhere still, i think....x.x

I think you did a great job considering that you've noted that this isn't exactly your best skill as of yet. 
It's MUCH better than what I would have done.
I probably finger paint like a preschooler.
