Why do I feel like the octopus is wearing the girl instead of the other way 'round?

I love it. And the cool character against the warmer background really makes it pop.

for some reason i am really drawn to this, very bohemian and creative, i also have always pictured the tentacles of an octopus hairlike and fluid enough to be so [link]

I adore the smooth colors, especially the orange of the octopus' eye.
Lovely work.

This is hauntingly beautiful. I love her expression, as though she is listening to something so far off it might be only in her memory or that she is decoding the octopus's language or thoughts.
The colors are powerful. The blues against the orange is a natural choice, it is the subtle pinks and even subtler greens that take this piece from strong to striking!
I love much of your use of line, I love the placement (composition) I do not think it needs more of anything. I am wondering if it needed less? Meaning - I fell in love with this portrait on impact, but it felt incomplete to me at first. I wanted to understand the octopus and the woman as one being initially, but the line and shading be
hind her ear make them two distinct creatures for me. Which then threw her upper body off for my eye.
Once you get past her collarbone and the curve of her shoulder the rest looks like an after thought to me as though you extended the color but didn't give her quite enough definition
to define an upper arm and what I suspect becomes the curve of her spine? I think trusting your instinct about where to stop your piece or making a cleaner choice about being ambiguous - at once point I had tried to picture the hint of an ink cloud rolling off the end of her spine and dispersing across that vague area across the upper arm? But again I think less not more was the answer here.
You work is incredible, your work speaks volumes. I don't actually have a higher compliment than that to give any artist. Wow. Jen

This looks sooo amazing. Her skin looks gorgeous and the way all the tentacles are twisting and bending around her adds so much movement and life to this piece! The solid red background also compliments the blues really well! Very awesome job! <3
