Description Nothing new, just posting pokemon from the last trivia challenge.

My 100th deviation is accelgor! Altho, i don't think that means i've done a hundred sculptures; some are grouped into one deviation while others have more than one. Either way its cool.

This pokemon is awesome. I can't go tired of taking photos of him.

#617 Accelgor
Accelgor is said to be the embodiment of cool. He is often found posing, its location is never the same because he looks cool on everything and therefore wants to be seen on everything.

- But seriously, how cool is accelgor?
That's right, hella cool =O

These look like they'd be on Pokemon card art. I really love the intense highlight in the bottom right.

How did you manage to pose him in all these positions?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chow-marco In reply to Steel-Avatar [2011-05-12 22:06:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! That would be an awesome job, sculpting along
with Yuka Morii (she does clay art for tcg; amazing person ).

There are some parts that i leave movable (the pupils, the "wings"
or whatever they are, etc.) so that i can get a good range of
poses for taking pictures of.

that's my favorite photo too.

but i wanted to show all sides of Accelgor.

Is this guy supposed to be a fast snail? I never really looked at it until now, lol, you made it look pretty cool.

I see that you're doing a great job not leaving fingerprints on the sculpture but I can't help but notice the one on this dude's face xP

I know sanding it works well but then the colors are left uneven, have you tried sanding and then spraying it with Dullcote or something? I'm going to try that when I get more Sculpey, I never know when Michael's is having their $1 Sculpey clay sales

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chow-marco In reply to DarkTailss [2011-05-03 08:08:24 +0000 UTC]

Yep, i think that's what they were going
for with this pokemon.

Hehe thanks! altho, to be honest i've never
really focused on getting rid of fingerprints;
more on keeping the clay dirt-free. I've tried
sanding one in hopes of getting it clean and it
worked quite well,but i haven't tried spraying
yet.

ooh $1 clay sales? that's lucky! My clay went up
by 50c going to $4 X_x

I like the way you positioned the eyes pointing in different places so they can be positioned in more dynamic ways... but I'd LOVE to see a face on views XD.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chow-marco In reply to lydario [2011-05-01 18:00:10 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! yeah, i never bake the eyes if i can help it, mostly
because its hard to decide which way they should point ,
but it also gives me a wider range to do good photos. ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lydario In reply to chow-marco [2011-05-01 18:10:45 +0000 UTC]

So you basically leave eye-sockets in the baked clay, but allow for the eyes to change?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

chow-marco In reply to lydario [2011-05-08 17:25:29 +0000 UTC]

I forgot to reply to this, but thankfully someone answered it,
and that's exactly what i do; leave just the pupils unbaked. ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lydario In reply to chow-marco [2011-05-08 18:06:17 +0000 UTC]

Ah, ok sweet.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

DarkTailss In reply to lydario [2011-05-01 22:44:45 +0000 UTC]

I think he means only the pupils are left unbaked since the eyes don't really move anyway.

And it's a good idea, I'm gonna do that with my Onix!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lydario In reply to DarkTailss [2011-05-02 00:58:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, totally is!

Also explains why his alakazam is white eyed (Though that could be his psychic powers in action as well.)
