My boyfriend saw this turtle hanging out on the side of the road while he was on his way to pick me up. Luckily, he was still there on the way back, so I snapped a few pictures of him. His shell alone was maybe just over a foot long and his tail was pretty long too. I just hope he's safe now.----

They get pretty aggressive on land I'm told.

They can be. I once found a baby and picked him up and he tried to eat me. He was the size of my palm and he wanted vengeance. lol. I had to hold him by the rear of his shell so he couldn't reach me while I admired him. Then I set him free again. =]
