Originally this started as a helmet sketch and it continued to evolve from there.

I've always been wanting to improve my Spartan drawings as armor design can be surprisingly complex, especially interlocking or articulated plates.

But it's helmet design that I really want to improve since that may be what a viewer may see the most of.

As for it being a Mobian, that's sort of details by this point. In the CC universe, prospects are held to the same standards and are thinned out before even a small amount of applicants may face the augmentations that not everyone will survive. Those that make it are considered greatly honored servicemen who are awarded with the ancient Spartan patch that had been in use for almost seven hundred years. This patch can be worn forever on a serviceman's uniform, even when they wish to leave the Spartans, though many choose to serve their whole careers within MJOLNIR armor. As of 3241, Mobians are able to apply for candidacy in the Spartan program, though as the augmentations had not been designed for them, chances of either crippling complications, or outright death are statistically higher for Mobians. Those that survive and are awarded their helmet at graduation are considered eternal heroes in their hometowns who have made a difference for their communities in a greatly expanded world.
