Description
On December 4th, 3239, the UNSC formed a planet-specific military Corps to watch over the new Human colonies on the alternate universe Earth known as Mobius: The Guardian Unit of Nations, or GUN.

GUN is technically an independent unit of the Human military partly under the control of the UNSC Joint Military Command and partly under the new Human Colonial Government on Mobius, the United Federation. GUN is meant to be a less intrusive form of the UNSC that wouldn't project an air of hostility or overwhelmingness. Their numbers are small, only about thirty thousands strong. However, GUN has access to Earth's supplies, ships, and soldiers. It's not unheard for GUN forces to have a UNSC controlled starship, however, there isn't any need to use ships as GUN's base is mainly terrestrial.

GUN accepts Mobians into their ranks, but their role is mainly to protect Human colonies, such as the new settlement of Station Square. But if called for, GUN will answer.

This is mainly a sort of a tie-in to show some sort of continuity between this fictional crossover timeline and the official Sonic timeline. Whereas GUN in the comics was formed out of Human survivors from the original apocalypse, GUN is a subsection of the UNSC, the Human military command based on Earth. This shows that even though there are differences, things are the same as well.
