Description
Here are the ink wash portraits I did monday! If there are any in particular you'd like to see bigger or like to know more about, please say so.
The ink is a little strange because it had rust in it, so there are hints of blue and orange.

i took some ink, which i diluted in a lot in water: this is a wash. i applied my strokes with a paintbrush, giving a pale wash, and then went over with darker washes (more ink, less water), and then with just ink. the ink spread throughout the wet surface, creating marks. if you go over an area with wash several times, you create subtle shades, like the black-skinned lady in the first picture on the second row.
i suggest you look up marlene dumas for more ink wash work.

I like the ink wash effects. Also the rust seemed like a good idea

the rust was an accident! xD
it was the result of me and my brother dipping our rusty nibs in the ink.
