!! Update !! Finally fixed up his app all new and stuff! His hair is shorter and scruffier, and he's not wearing his coat here. My style remains so plain compared to everyone else's @w@ boys are hard to draw u,_u

Personality:
An expressive man, Joel is very cheery, silly, and polite- totally eager to please, too, and is especially playful with his close friends. He is absolutely in love with literature, and as such often ends up daydreaming and absentmindedly losing track of what he's been doing. When speaking with someone he can sometimes start changing the subject or rambling about a favorite piece of art, but as long as they need help at the library he listens quietly. He loves romantic and adventurous ideas, and since moving to the island has been enjoying getting to live out his little fantasies by exploring Lucine. Also, Joel quickly becomes flustered when he gets embarrassed- when getting into conversation he can be too forward or pushy or annoying in some other way, and has been known to ask intrusive questions without, at first, realising it. Generally tho, he is a sweetie dork-face.

Although he is quite outgoing, since he gets very lost in his imagination, most of his free time is spent alone: reading a novel, drinking a glass of wine or thinking about things up in his loft or out at the river.

Because he is very open-minded most of the things he dislikes are tangible [fishy food or fish smell] rather than emotional.

History:
Joel's father was a studious, serious artist who was often away studying artwork and literature in foreign lands, and his mother was the bread-winner, always at work, so Joel was home alone a lot. His father would bring home photos of paintings as well as some of his own work and tons of books for him, and Joel would spend hours and hours reading, never really spending time with friends (he wasn't shy, he just loved the books too much). Joel became completely hypnotized with the arts, forming a nebulous idea of social life based upon what he read.
Whenever Joel's mother came home from work, she would have a fancy jar of jam for him bought from upscale market in the city, and they would eat it together with rolls for dessert, but besides that he didn't even spend a lot of time with his parents (they didn't notice since he seemed as happy as a clam). Some time during his late teens, Joel left home unannounced with unrealistic expectations of setting off on a youthful adventure. After a few years of wandering he received a letter from the Mayor of Lucine... [and has been living on the Island since!!]
