This is inspired by the Cave of Lost Souls scene from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MIqeO…

While traveling through the Dark Forest where the Wishing Star slept, Puss gets separated from his comrades in the Cave of Lost Souls with the map. While searching for a way out, he unexpectedly meets up with all eight of his past lives, who visually appear on large crystal stalagmites, and they all celebrate their reunion with a few songs. After a while, Puss decides to stop and asks his old lives for a way out so he can reunite with Kitty and the dog. Surprised by this, Puss' lives try to persuade him that, since he had the map now, he could find the Wishing Star by himself and get them back so he could become a legend again. Puss reflects on this and realizes that, with his old lifestyle, he was constantly alone, which lead to him abandoning Kitty in the first place. Upon which, his eight lives start mock him for becoming so cowardly, causing Puss to get angry and decide to find an exit by himself, which in turn made his lives angry with him.

Now, imagine after leaving the cave Puss's past lives would somehow became a part of him as separate personalities and would come to the surface taking over his body from time to time.
