very emotive and powerful! the use of darker tones over the painting is very effective in conveying the despair and loneliness of the single tiny being who seems completely adrift and almost obscured by the mechanized, metal world around it. Can't even seem to find the strength or will to look toward the light; "the sickening pang of hope deferred" [Scott].

I would argue with both of those points. Metal absorbs anything and everything that you offer it. if you offer it cold air, it becomes cold. if you offer it warmth with fire or love, it becomes warm. Metal is only what you make it.

i have looked at some of your work now and its absolutely amazing. they must have took you months to complete just one. they are stunning you capture the mood of the image perfectly.

Yes i agree it's not original at all. It's a relatively simple designed city.
Although it was not the point of painting something originally looking. The idea is: a sad guy looking at the city he lives in and he hates it, because the buildings go all up to the sky and cast bigger shadows, so the people living close to the ground cant see the dawn. It was that feeling i wanted to submit. I felt a crazy looking city (with original design) would look less sad, because everyone would see just the design and form of it, and it would be a distraction from the original idea behind the picture.
