Dude reminds me of Yen'Fay and Grima. Grima is a huge problem in Fire Emblem that caused people to be power hungry to unify the world by force that eventually leads to his sister to die in the process. He travel from gate to gate to stop the dragon before it wrecks havoc.

I like the idea that the Dragon ate him in an attempt to kill him, and he ripped apart its innards. With its final death rattle its head slumped and its jaw lay gaping, and he stepped from its bowels with little regard.
