The red adds a very strong punch and a sinister undertone to the painting, especially since there is no other colour to soften it up. I also like how you can't really read the features of the characters in the background, makes you wonder about the story behind it.
(btw, Photoshop CS2 is the best, isnt it? : ] I've switched to using CS5 and I wish I didn't. CS2 is solid, and the lack of overscroll in CS5 makes it hard to work on details sometimes)

thank you,
i've actually switched to cs5 some time ago myself when i bought a new pc (still haven't tried cs6 yet), before that i was using cs2 which is still on my laptop.
i dont know, it's not a big difference, but yeah there are no huge advantages either in the new versions. i guess if you got used to any of them, it wont really matter if you switched or not.

i love the way the red grabs your attention, no one else in the room exists except the Queen.

This is really quite beautiful. I love the texture of the red, rather than something smooth. It's pretty creepy, and should be melancholy, but... I don't know. It seems as though the queen is quietly insane. That is probably the closest I can to what I feel about the picture. Nicely done!
