Description
Part of a story i'm working on right now.It is a very slow process, although I have no idea how long it usually takes to write and paint graphic novels, but i'm trying to speed things up anyway
Also, maybe some of you guys can suggest a few novels to me, i'm trying to read as many as possible to get a feeling for it. I prefer to read only fantasy for now because mine own will be in the fantasy genre and i dont want to be influenced by sci-fi or anything. But if it's just something mind-blowingly awesome i'll read it even if it's not fantasy
thanks.

It is a bold choice to paint against the backdrop of the moon as of course this has been done countless times before and so you need to execute it perfectly. Which is exactly what you've done.
There is a real sense of menace about the main figure. The hand gesture seems to indicate he is beckoning and the expression would indicate his intent is far from good. The way you have managed to get expression into the figure given a very limited range of values and palette is very clever.
The robes / dark morass that make up the body of the figure have a wonderful sense of movement which also reinforces the feeling that someone or something is being drawn to him probably against their will.
I think the widescreen format works very well for this image as again it reinforces the overall movement and sense of space in the composition. The blurred globules of blood (I assume) in the foreground are a very nice touch and help give a real sense of dimension to the whole piece.
Overall a top piece of work and if this is an indication of the quality of artwork in the rest of your graphic novel I am sure it'll be a wonderful read!

I think of edward scissorhands when I see this, but in some darker place.
To use the moon like this, as a backlight is very hard since it sets high demands on you can pull of a character nice enough to wear the heavy silhouette it casts.
Here Chris have managed to not just create a really cool looking character but also created "feeling" in the piece itself.
Just the depth itself with the softer blurr and the blood splattering in the smokey night is enough for me to really dig this piece. It's a high quality take on a creature of the night.
This can turn out to be a great novel in the end. Great work my man!
Feature in my journal as well

Have a good one,

The Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson is great inspiration for creating enormous and unique fantasy worlds, and Erikson is just a fantastic author. They take a while to read though, the series is around 10 books at 700-1000 pages each, so not sure if that's your cup of tea. I recommend it, though. First book is Gardens of the Moon.

I thought this was Ergo Proxy. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. I have the feeling it would be right up your ally.
As for novels...
Tom Holland's Deliver Us From Evil
I also just ordered his Vampyre novel and even though I haven't read it yet, I am going to go ahead and recommend that one too. From what I know of it, and knowing Holland's style, I think you'll enjoy it.
I wish I could add your whole gallery into my favourite selection. Keep up the amazing work!

yeah some people keep mentioning that anime, but i've never had the time for it, maybe some day.
I'll definitely check out the writer, though.
Thanks for the suggestions!

It's very strange and interesting when you find something that you've been thinking about or imagining for many years. It gives you an opportunity to see your thoughts and dreams in real life.
Thanks to you,Chris,i saw this character"Dramargu".To be honest, your work helped me to understand a huge part of myself, part of myΒ subconsciousness(that sounds weird,i know).I think this is a masterpiece and one of the best implemented ideas i've ever seen for my entire(not so long)life.Bravo!))
P.S. Sorry for my english,I'm from Russia.Don't be strict.

the appearance of blood and a thick viscous black fog like material forming into something really makes this seem like a creeping demon, the kind of thing that appears out of nowhere and devour your soul... kind of like how i imagine Shades were formed in the Inheritance books. This is an awesome piece

Try the Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. Got turned into the HBO series Game of Thrones which is the title of the first book. I'm moving abroad in two months to focus on my own novel writing, so I understand not wanting to get influenced.

Something about his face reminds me of Ergo Proxy. I love how fluid but rigid the cloak is.
