Description
I was just sketchin in my THIRD sketchbook this year, while watching Alias DVD's with my wife, and i started to think about that one GUY in whatever movie/cartoon/game etc, you know the one dood that is most of the time JUST AS GOOD AS or sometimes BETTER than the main character, but he happens to fall on the SHIT end of the luck stick and gets beaten just because the good guy has to win, yeah him, and decided to draw my version of him, and here he is. A lil free drawing in between all the WORK stuff, LOOOOOVVVVVIIIIINNNNNN IT!Related content

This actually reminds me almost of the style for Blade of the Immortal manga series. I like how this turned out.

I want that guy to win just once, but then there would be some revenge story and a new hero and they would win or some junk, awesome or equal skill should be rewarded with a win

This is the drawing of yours for me.
I've already commented on this, but you asked for total honesty, so I'll revisit.
There's really only two things I can pick at.
As much as I love how you defined the shape and depth of his yukata with the marker, you didn't go all the way. In the closest part of the sleeve, you should have kept the area more consistently solid, either vertical or diagonal. The break between the two fractures the illusion.
Diagonal is generally considered more dynamic, but in this context I think the vertical, following the shape of the falling fabric of the sleeve, would have worked much better.
Since it would've been entirely lost in a solid-black print for a comic book, though, it's not terribly important. If it were to be printed as we see it here, this detail would stay important.
The style of his yukata puts him in a certain historical time period [after 1500 AD] when samurai were more commonly foot soldiers and weren't as specialized in the role of cavalry, so he would be carrying a sword mounted in buke-zukuri fittings, which were worn with the blade edge upwards so it would not wear out inside the sheath. Having drawn a few of them myself, I can say it's also easier to draw the blade if its back edge slides inside; the sharp edge catches easily, but the back edge is just silken butter when you've got the right wood in there.
Because it should be worn edge-up, the grip is angled wrong in your drawing. It's also missing the iconic menuki, which were small ornaments used to suggest where the samurai's palms should be placed on the handle.
If you look here [link] you'll see a gorgeously detailed diagram of the parts of a katana's grip and how it's wrapped. While there are innumerable variations on wrapping it, I've found the two-ribbon style illustrated is the most iconic. In order to get the particular feeling in the twists on the sides, there should be two. Note how it's also used to hold the butt cap on.
Also note the shape of the grip: Its cross-section is not a uniform oval all the way through. It gets narrower and thicker. In the illustration it's a bit exaggerated because they're fitting a fairly long object into a comparatively short space and the artist's style is beautifully cartoonish. To make it more dynamic, avoiding the continuous thickness would look more interesting, though it wouldn't necessarily be inaccurate since many katana were like yours.

Hahahahaha. Thank you.
I don't see it as being all that simple, though. A hell of a lot of practice went into this. At a glance it may not look like much, but I can see the years upon years he's been at it. Notice how few rough lines he needed to find the perfect ones: compared to the rough sketches I pretty much puked up, you can see how much of the art he's got in his muscles. He doesn't even have to think about it. He feels it, even at the most preliminary levels.
That's amazing skill, right there.
But he can push it even further. I can only hope to help a little bit.

The marker defines the shape and depth of his yukata... Fantastic.
