New Year's mini-art project. Luna looking at the moon.
not perfect, but I'm a bit too lazy to edit the fails, especially in the black bg…yeah too lazy to make it an even dark

there's good shading there, a lot of different textures and it has a pleasantly wistful appearance. There is a slight oddness to the tilt of her horn, and the moon looks odd with the dual texture. Partly I think that the moon is due to the stars being so bright one can almost forget they're drawn.

Looks good! You've done well to make sure that Luna tds out from the dark background! - I always end up with a rather messy dark splodge, and you can't tell the pony from the bakground!

I know! But I usually use charcoal, and it's a lot harder to make sure that it doesn't all smudge together! I'll give it a go, though!

oh you use charcoal? that's my favourite media! HAHAHA if you don't want to to smudge all over, you might have to use fixative. Or, what I do is lift my hand off the paper while drawing, then once I'm done, I place a sheet of paper over it so that it does not smudge on other papers, or me. But maybe try fixative, it fixes the charcoal on the paper so it practically becomes unsmudgable.

Yeah - I'll try the fixative! (I've covered it with paper, but then I'm never sure what it is that I've drawn - things start to go out of proportion...)
