amazing work with such a limited pallet. Really brought out the feel with only blacks, whites and greys

oh man! sweet!
i'm actually partway through doing the same picture myself - its interesting to see the differences! i think its because of the material though, i'm using just pencils....and mines not quite so dark in some places....awesome job!

Because of you, i finally finished mine - i did it all in pencil - i love seeing the differences people have in the way they interpret the same picture - what do YOU think?

awesome piece u did, its evident you spent alot of time on it thats probably the biggest difference between the two of ours, I only spent 2 hours rendering this one in charcoal and chalk. Lately I've been doing alot of charcoal renderings because I have to practice rendering pieces out quickly and trying to be as accurate as I can. I use to spend 6-18 hours when I was doing fully shaded pencile drawings, it was just outta control and I wasn't creating enough pieces.

yeah, it DID take a long time - but it was worth it, i believe yours is good too - the mediums and the approach, what you're aiming for, can definitely change the outcome of the piece - but like i said, this is AWESOME and if you wanted to do a quick picture, you couldn't have done what i did....(well, maybe some people could, but not me!) and i'm not sure i could have forced myself to go 'simpler'. i get too caught up sometimes - that's talent too - being able to render just the main focuses of the piece.
so again, thank you! and i Love yours too!!

All the charcoal pieces i've done I've rendered in my sketch book, the texture is because the excessive amount of chalk the I lay down in my second layer as I blurr the basic shadows
