Description Part of a series I did for a recent press conference about the systematic torture being committed by the U.S. even as you read these letters on your screen....

This is the detention hall in Bagram run by the U.S. military. It is a series of caged cells surrounded by barbed wire, with about 12 people in each cell. The detainees are shackled and forced to lie on the ground 24 hours a day under bright lights.

PS sorry about the watermark on the fullview image, I am usually against those ugly things- it just suddenly occured to me that even though I got permission to show these here, it would be bad style if I let them get stolen.

People like you are people who think America is worse than everyone else in the world, I guess is what I meant, or how it looks. I don't even believe your claims to go with that image. Anyway, it's an art site, so forget it. Go make out with your Che Guevara poster. Good art work.

Well like I said, you don't know me- that was an art project that just hit me hard while I was working on it because of all the resources and people I had to process in order to get the details right. I do not think America is worse than everyone else, so sorry I'm not one of your "people like you". I've never owned anything with Che Guavara on it, although I wouldn't mind a T-shirt come to think of it....
Art sites can handle political discussions too, so no worries. And on top of it all you give me a compliment, for which I say thank you.

It's funny to me, but I said "people like you" as bait and you ate it hook and all. Maybe most people would put their guard up for that though, but I think I probably would accept categorization with certain labellings if it fits me. If it was work for you, then it was work. If it didn't effect you, then you wouldn't be very compassionate, as an artist naturally is likely to be. I don't like it either if that situation is really as bad as your assignment portrayed, I just like to put diverse arguments out there because I think too many people don't get to hear them(like the point I tried to make).

Please truly understand the history of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara before dedicating admiration to him, I suggest in sincerity. Talk to a Cuban ex-patriot, or watch "The Lost City" by former Cuban Andy Garcia and don't just go by the populist college professor indoctrination, that requires you to not think for yourself. Maybe see "Che" too, I haven't seen that because I think it sounds so boring, but "Lost City" was really compelling and moving to me.

I hope it is OK to moderators if political debate erupts sometimes in here, I just know that in other sites that I belong, they strongly stifle it. Artistically, your skill is high, so you're welcome.

Whatever, people like you allow real atrocities to continue in the world by blurring the lines of good and evil, right and wrong. Terrorists are getting it better than they deserve, and calling it torture diminishes the real torture in the world, like the things Saddam did to his people. We never got to hear much about that though, funny... the weak who won't acknowledge real evil, but condemn those who stand against it are taking over the world.

Please inform me what I don't have any idea about? I take it you are a real genius, and can enlighten us all, and not just regurgitating what you've been spoon-fed by burned out proffesors and your drone friends? It's funny how the despotic can only lash out with spittle and venom when logic and reason are presented to them. Anyway, I take it you are the bastard spawn of the unholy marriage between freedom hating cult from Hell fanatic islamicism, and the hateful jealous neo communist leftists? Just consider looking into freedom please, it is such a good thing! God bless!

Those article are about Afgans. The sad part, and the reason this is so irritating, is I shouldn't even have to explain this, and yet am. Twisted people come from all walks of life, and all nationalities, and it is shameful some find their way into military service and have the oportunity to commit atrocities. What makes all the difference in the world is, guys who illegaly tortured Afganis, or Iraqis, expecially innocent ones, are put on trial and locked away in prison. Yet you critisize the brightest beacon of freedom and civil rights in the world, yet don't bitch about atrocities the Taliban or Alquaida commit. Tying women to hay bails and burning them alive for visiting a doctor, or being burried and murdered with rocks for example. A jihadist who does that is praised by his superiors all the way up to the top. Therefore, either you are so very incomprehesibly uninformed, or brainwashed even, or an agent or sympathiser of the sick radical islamic terrorist forces, and I hope the authorites find and arrest you in the case of the latter.

the bagram torture case is the biggest beacon of freedom and civil rights in the world?
your thinking is illogical.

fourth section from the top is where you are currently at.

you obviously misunderstood my comment as pro-al quaida. i do not condone terrorism or tortute. personally i think the whole war in the middle east is pants-on-head retarded, as much as i would like to go shoot someone.

No, the Bagram tortures are not beacons of freedom or civil rights. You misunderstood. The side who those miscreant soldiers were supposed to be represantatives of, namely the USA, and the coalition, are who have lead the way in freedom by defeating the forces of oppression.
So the bottom line is, yeah, there are criminals and psychos, and war is hell, but the decent side punishes their own for such things, the other side revels in it. Yeah, I'm starting to reach the point of feeling like the civilized world should maybe start saving their fortunes and warriors since the barbarians in the dark ages don't seem to want to get their act together for themselves. It is just a shame if we say "fuck it" and leave, they'll feel it's a victory and probably will redouble their efforts to spread and grow and try to expand their terrorism.

so your saying that its ok to torture people to stop terrorism?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LouisTarado In reply to Max306 [2010-11-06 20:57:35 +0000 UTC]

Nope, never said that. I agreed those guys should be prosecuted from doing shit like that! I do think it's ok to be creative with terrorists in and do everything but torture in certain circumstances that will stop a bomb from killing hundreds though, and that's why it's a sore subject that people still used the word "torture" when the ringleader of 911 finally broke from waterboarding. It takes away meaning from real torture, like what Sadaam had done to people he suspected were against him...drilling hands, submerging in acid, shoving a steel rod up one guy's rectum so he lost a major section of intestines. I don't see do gooders post about those bigger atrocities, not to mention the mass graves and rape rooms. Hey, it's like condemning the US GIs for torture because they made the residents of Dachau, after its liberation, while gagging and horrified, work at the death camp to help pick up and load onto trucks all the piles of emaciated corpses, and not condem those who had committed the holocaust itself. Gee, what a horrible people we must be, saving the world from the likes of Hitler, Stalin and Hussein, and being mean about it sometimes.

Had to block you now, you, like most wanker sheep fucking ozzies are worthless, and I think hate yourselves for being the castoff decendants of the lowest of the low alley whores and pickpockets of the UK. You can't stand how the US turned out to be the greatest country in the world ever, and yet you all became liberated from the same country and ended up nothing. It makes you more vile and hateful and dispicable that we want to like you, because you know deep down you're not worthy of any friendship or admiration...Steve Irwin was a flash in the pan who got what he deserved, Paul Hogan was a one trick pony. Anyway, have to stop this thread before I start figuring out a way to really show you what torture would be.
