In a parallel Equestria, the trio of Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow won the battle at Canterlot Castle.
Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, has disappeared. The main 6 have been dispersed.
Equestria was divided, and for twenty years the Trio ruled over the world.

But all is not lost, as in the far north, in the Crystal Empire, Flurry Heart has launched an appeal to call upon the brave creatures who dare to hope for a world once again free and united by the magic of Friendship, thus creating the Guild.
Fang, who has always been a warrior at heart, answered the call with his imposing companion Krai, a raven the size of an eagle, and his trusty double axe.
Now he looks at the horizon and looks forward to future battles, while Krai watches over the territory from above, thus helping his wingless companion.
