Description

The Quetzalcoatl is an exotic, graceful and rare feathered snake.
It is very similar to the royal python (Python regius) in behavior, size, biology and character.
Its natural habitat is the rainforests of Equestria. Its back is covered with water-repellent feathers.

In the image we see an adult male specimen exhibiting the brilliant colors of its feather crown.
Only the adult males have the multicolored livery on the head and on the tail.
Females and specimens that have not reached sexual maturity do not have bright colors.
During the mating season, the males perform for the females, who will choose the male with the brightest colors.
In fact, the colored livery indicates good health.

The Quetzalcoatls have developed a claw at the end of the first finger of the wing, usually hidden by feathers, which they use to better climb trees covered with moss, lichen or slimy microalgae.
Its wings are large enough to allow it to glide through tree branches.
In nature it feeds mainly on small mammals, other reptiles (it can be cannibals), amphibians and birds.
Quetzalcoatl is not poisonous, but its bite can be very painful.
