excuse me... but i got vue after seeing the wonderful things you can make with it (this one being no exception ) but since getting it, ive not been able to find a mirror object, or material.
did you use a script or something to make it, or am i just momentarily blind?

chrisntheboat In reply to Bladewolf73 [2009-05-17 13:53:21 +0000 UTC]

go to the materials window and scroll to top and click (Basic)
the material is there..and remember you can mix materials also

Great job. By the way, how did you create the reflect light in the mirror?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chrisntheboat In reply to silencefreedom [2009-05-15 02:07:04 +0000 UTC]

cant tell you my secrets wellllll ok
it was actually not hard at all, if you understand the kind of program i use for my art.oh..you understand?o.k. then this is how i did it, i took a orb that i modeled and then added a quadratic point light and placed it in the front of the orb(inside) then adjusted two of the lights four designated light paths(it helps soften the light)then i mixed smoked glass and crystal to form a new material for the mirror, then i placed it inside the orb behind the quad light.. and then...i performed a metablob function for the entire wireframe...and
about three hours work to create the orb and its inners
hope this kind of explained things

silencefreedom In reply to chrisntheboat [2009-05-15 23:32:09 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot Chris because I am learning 3d art so I need to ask someone who is hardcore in it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chrisntheboat In reply to silencefreedom [2009-05-16 15:01:41 +0000 UTC]

it is not that i am hardcore in it.(yes i am).i just know this particular program really well, i cant write script or parameters for fractals....yet
but any questions i can answer for you i will for sure
the best part of the 3d is the booleen and metablob functions, once you learn how to exact your x,y,z plains, that is where you create the depth(or the perception of it)i know that you will accell in it
