The Last Maple~
The air had quickly filled with the stench of death, and had turned a soured brown color just before the machine appeared in the sky above the broken city of Salvage Tempest (city of hope among destruction) This is where the last(and only known) of its plant species was brought to be cared for, and nurtured from the polluted world outside of the arboretum walls. It was 3:00pm and most were working when the machine was first noticed by the world alarm system coming towards the planet. This was the second time they had come to plunder the remaining plant life that was left on the planet. In 2045 the when the first attack had occurred, most every species of chlorophyll producing abilities had vanished overnight. Man had already done his part to destroy most every living resource on the planet by this time anyways. There were only a few small areas left where trees were able to grow, but even that was much to polluted to sustain any life. So the only option was to encase the few remaining maple trees inside controlled atmospheres in the heart of the overpopulated and filthy city. The only option...
Then the rumble came,, so quickly, as it shot through the atmosphere lighting up the smog filled sky above the vastly overpopulated city in the middle of the great neutral plains area of the planet. It had come for the tree! The last one known to exist, the last one known to man. Then there was a loud clap of thunder and a crash in the skies above, the machine had gone straight to the building housing the tree and systematically pulled the roof from the arboretum and removed its quarry from its safe place. As the tree was rising up to the machines underside, a ear piercing screech bellowed down from the sky above the city, and a flash of light that was brighter than 40 suns at once appeared to the side of the machine, and when the light subsided a clear orb had surrounded the tree. The story begins.............................
