The problem with this (aside from the engineering problems of actually building anything this large out of stone) is that a structure that large would have it's own internal weather.

Ok, you've got the point with that. I guess the huge openings there would provide nice and strong draught, even more if they were built into the wall where the camera is placed. I was mostly referring to the engineering issues. It was like saying "yeah, elves cannot be immortal or orcs don't exist therefore whole LotR is stupid". Of course stone blocks like that would require some giants to build them and magic or magical stones to hold them together. People can argue about every fantasy being impossible in the real world - well thats the point. It's fantasy. Cheers
