"C'mon Havelock. We can tell they in bed together, literally and figuratively. Don't you think it's fraternization?"
"First, our project has looser restrictions on chain of command. I don't pry into their private lives, and they keep their relationship subdued when out on the field. That bit is good enough for me."
"And the second?"
"And second is that they rely on each other. They trust each other."
"We get that in any unit with an esprit de corps worth a damn, what's so different about them?"
"Because of what they've been through. Both of them fought side by side during The Breakup. Then the leaders of their faction started going nasty, pushing cybernetics and combat drugs, not to mention turning their group from revolutionary front to cultish teror cell. They saw the writing on the wall and tried to get out."
"Tried huh?"
"Aye, their bosses weren't too happy about deserters. But they were keen to try the new ways of getting augmented soldiers to uh... comply."
"Black Mirror sort of shit huh?"
"Primitive stuff, but enough to make their life a hell if they didn't comply. But they managed to break free and kill the sons of bitches who put them in that state. If my help admittedly."
"Isn't that supposed to be happy ever after?"
"For two people with medical cybernetic augments? You tried keeping those in proper condition without a healthcare plan?"
"Ah yes... so you swooped in to save their day with a job opportunity and dental plan huh?"
"That's the gist of it... but they don't -quite- trust me. They trust each other. Even though they may argue at times, or go on the odd op alone, they rely on each other because they've been together since the beginning. And because if something goes wrong, the other will be there to help get them through it."
"And because of true love?"
"Oh don't be so cynical for once. I've never seen them go doe eyed for each other. At least not when I'm around..."

And finally the two of them together. Jacket and Lynx are indeed partners in crime as it were. It's nice to draw together finally.

Recently, I've scored a job for the first time in a long time, so artwork may slow down once again. Still, I'm not forgetting it entirely.
