So, I've drawn Shark a couple of times, both in this gallery and in my other one, but I've had a tricky time getting his tail design right - See, as his name implies, I wanted him to have a shark like tail, particularly that crescent fin. Yet, at the same time, I wanted him to seem quite... snake-like, quite slippery and sleek.I feel like I've finally got a decent balance here - I referenced the look of frilled sharks, which have that long, serpentine body, but have these amazing flared gills and frilled tails, similar to a better fish when it's angry, which I tried to imitate in the fins around his face and the gills along his torso.

Ugh, I love this, the pencil lines are very crisp and clean, almost looks like digital art mimicking traditional it's so crisp.
I love the seemingly (but complicated) shading, anatomy as always, the expression most definitely---the description and decisions on the tail, too, are really great and seem to have worked very well together!!
