updated the image with a better scan - it's kind of absurd how much I doctored it to try and get the vibrancy up, the oranges in the other version were far to red

so, last life drawing session, just for giggles I drew the model as a merman - he didn't seem to mind
and then the other day this happened. I went kind of overboard XD annoyingly the scanner ate the colours, but Iβm thinking I might get it scanned somewhere else, properly, and then Iβll update the image.

This is really nice! Authentic yet artsy. And I myself have a lot of trouble with my scanner and can spend an hour trying to get the colors back

yeah, scanners are awful sometimes - I'm lucky that there's a good scanner at work that doesn't wash out the colours too much.

I love how flabby he looks! And that little bit of belly. It is a wonderful change from the usual overly muscled mermen out there! I love the tail and the scale pattern on the skin really pull the whole picture together. Good job! ^^

hah, even the slimmest of us will have a bit of a tummy when we hunch over - this model's actually fairly slight when he stands up straight

yeah, this model is pretty well known for always looking very serious when he poses
life drawing is a lot of fun, plus it really helps improve your drawing skills - definitely worth trying it out!
