Okay, this is my first time with apophysis. I have some questions for the apophysis experts:

Bad quality. I put the sample density to 200, filter radius to 0.1, and no oversample (1) but it still took FOURTEEN HOURS to render this freaking thing, at 600 x 900 pixels. I'd like to raise the sample density but the time increases a lot when I raise it.

I'm rendering in Ultra Fractal.. does anyone know if this is slower? I like Ultra Fractal because I'm used to it and it gives me a better time estimate than apophysis. Should I not be doing this? Does it take longer?

Does a picture like this really warrant 14 hours of rendering out of my athlon 1300 processor and 512 MB of RAM, with no other processes running under my username? This is insane.. I'l never be able to make pretty pictures if it takes this long.

Edit: I made this a scrap because I just figured out how to fix it - DON'T USE ULTRA FRACTAL! It's WAY slower than Apophysis. A new version of this is coming soon.
