Went to Battersea Park Zoo today and had a great time

i was lucky, it was feeding time for them and the keeper threw them a bucket of worms and bugs, then covered them over with a rake so the meerkats could dig them up themselves

Love these guys.
Never heard of that zoo. Is it any good. I went to London zoo a couple of yrs back and was massively disappointed. I remember it from 15/20 yrs ago and it was brilliant then. It had so much stuff. Not anymore though.

its just a small children's zoo and the only real wild animals in it are the meerkats and a few monkeys. Its mostly farm animals that you can touch and the animals on the whole seem really contented.
I went to London Zoo last year and will never go again. So many animals standing there swaying repeatedly in depression

I realised that after looking at your other pic's.
Yeah, I won't be going back there either. After regularly visiting the Aspinall zoos, London was very poor and like you say, the animals didn't look very happy. The lack of animals as well, got me. I remember so many species and things like the insect house etc. Huge sets of wood ants and things. Also seeing some animals that aren't at Howletts, but most seem to have gone.
The only memory that was worth taking away, was that huge dung beetle statue, that was pretty cool.
Oh and when we left and walked through the park, there was a huge crime scene, forensics, cars, loads of taped off areas, etc. Obviously been a murder, then I saw Felicity Kendall, and realised they were filming, lol. I think it was that Rosemary and Thyme thing she did a while back.

yes they can be quite vicious when they are threatened
