Description
Ilso, the third character in The Yaetuan Sagas, was a teenage female yaetuan on planet Yaetu, who was alive in the beginning of the yaetuan exodus. As her mother was sick and Ilso lived in a shelter, she would often find her home by confiding in people her age around her, much to her naivete, and from her company she would grow to be somewhat of a rebel.

She would be one of millions to be sent away on a one-way trip to the first colonies, and her character arc of her attitudes before and after coming to terms with leaving her family behind for a new uncertain future prove for a great example of how speculative biology can be used to build the foundation for characters.

In this illustration, Ilso, her robotic companion Gida, and a friend of hers have a deep conversation on the rooftop of a bar/restaurant, revolving around her mixed feelings of being a new colonist in a few months. In this exchange she learns the valuable outlook of trying to live on for her family and carry the legacy of those left behind. Ultimately at the age of 15 she would be one of 50 million yaetuans sent to the Anter System, taking the ultimate journey.
