Description
The sand slicker is a small species of platyderm on planet Yaetu. These tiny animals measure no bigger than a foot, and they are native to the subtropical deserts and seasonal forests of the Glerian Penninsula and the Addourian Mountains. Being platyderm yaetuan animals they are mesotherms, meaning they can exhibit either warm-blooded or cold-blooded behavior depending on factors such as outside temperature, nutrition, activity levels, etc. Sand slickers live low-key lives as basic consumers of small invertebrates such as triparapodians and neoarthropods.

The way they often find them, as well as their method of digging their own personal burrows, is through the use of long front claws, as well as a shovel-like head and lower jaw. This is a helpful trait as sand slickers are sometimes easy prey for specialized local predators, including yaetuans who live in this region of the world. A sand slicker's best mode of defense is via their many sharp spines along their back and tail.
