Both used to be your average criminal until they decided to create high tech equipment that gave them powers to clash against a fast red hero (Spidey and Flash) using their new equipment they gained attention from a group of villains and joined said villains, until soon changing sides when Earth was invaded by otherworldly forces. (This last connection is probably not that standard since p sure it only counts to I2 Cold but eh)
