Hello!
I wanted you to know that I showcased this work on my facebook page in an album called "Marker Art." I have properly made it very clear who the artist was (you), what the piece was called, and linked to the original.
I have used your art and this piece because I am very impressed with it and am trying to show my friends the level of professionalism and expressive depth an artist can achieve with markers.
With your permission I would be very honored if I could maintain it there. However, if you are somehow offended, please let me know and I will respect your wishes and take it down immediately.
Please understand I only have the best of intentions. If this were not the case I would not have taken the time to communicate to you.
Here is the [link]
(Album permission is set to public, so you will have access) Please review the page to verify that I am hopefully presenting your work in a respectful and appreciative manner that you approve of.
Thank you VERY much for your consideration, time, and art. Have a GREAT day!
- RF
(I apologize if this is repeated for a couple of your pieces... that just means your work blows me away and I'd really love to keep showing it off! )

His mask reminds me of Trap-Jaw for some reason.

I'm interested in reprinting this art in an academic book about superheroes. A few others as well - maybe Green Goblin or Punisher vs Batman. I can be reached at captainblackadder@hotmail.com. My previous books are available at Amazon.com and include Emma Adapted and The Conscious Reader, if you want to check me out.

Ok, when you say "white paint" what type are you referring to? Like paint marker (sharpie), or white paint "paint" (with brush). These marker Illos kick me right in the balls-they're so perfect! LOL.

It's Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White. It's a thick water color paint that I dilute (natch) and use a brush for application. I use it like a wash really for blending. Never had much luck with paint markers.
Thanks

It looks really good. It took me a second to realize that his right hand was behind his back. So... do you have a tutorial on how you do your marker, pencil crayon and ink drawings?

ChristopherStevens In reply to SpiderGuile [2009-03-10 04:23:27 +0000 UTC]
Thank you, sir. Though, the technique is a mixture of things. If it was just marker it'd look like ass.

Secret mixture or you intend to share it? lol

ChristopherStevens In reply to SpiderGuile [2009-03-10 17:40:30 +0000 UTC]
Hehe, no, no secret. I use white color pencil too. And white paint for some areas.

When I do that, it sucks! I'm sure with more practice, it can be better!

There's nothing wrong with it..it's just the tangent that the gun and holster creates. It fools the eye a little. No biggie Thanks.

yes children he drew doom. awesome.
someone else probably already said this (but I didn't feel like going through all the comments.) but that right arm looks a bit weird, like it was chopped off or something.

the right arm tricked me a few times, too... it's probably the gun-in-the-holster's fault

I have nothing but admiration for your rendering and technique here.
Buuuuuuuuuuut...
Doesn't Doom use a Mauser c96 as his sidearm, or something based on that design? Or am I just out of date?
π: 0 β©: 1
ChristopherStevens In reply to Vryko-Lakas [2009-03-09 16:11:08 +0000 UTC]
Um..that's a Mauser. Yep. That's definitely a Mauser. It doesn't look like a Mauser, but I'm sure it is....you buying that?

Um..yeah! That's what it is! You sure seem to know your guns. TBH, I just drew a gun handle. If I knew people actually knew the difference I might've done some research LOL.

Only the odd ones. I only noted this one because the c96 is so distinctive. [link]

I love the slick and soft textures you create with this style of shading, I've seen peole doing similar stuff with vectorial programs but it's refreshing seen this made all traditional way, which creates a much unique and a work with real soul in it.
