gotta lvoe how you handled the armor on this.... Don't know whats going on with the expression, but the rest of it is very reminiscent of the end of Conan the Conqueror...... maybe if his face was more in shadow it'd be as brooding as the rest of the image... overall, great piece though=]

Whenever Top Cow lets me do portfolio reviews, I always tell artists to get the book: "film lighting" It's got a bunch of technical stuff, like where to put camera's and stuff, but they also teach situational lighting. It's great! of course, I'm a filmmaker, so I'm biased, but I like it.
There is much to learn from guys like you and Wrightson though, I'll look into him:}

Thanks. Texture is kind of a new thing for me. I always use to shy away from that kind of thing, but it can add so much visually. It doesn't always have to be super clean.

Yeah, I have a very 'loose' inking style, and applying ink to get textures is something I really want to work on. I think that helped me visually understand how to ink better and use textures like that.
