Leifang from Dead or Alive 4

Leifang's name can supposedly be translated as "Beautiful Phoenix" (or Phoenix-like mythical bird), thus the title.

A bit older sketch (from 2014) for which I needed several attempts at coloring, because it was too challenging and some PC problems. The end result is more or less what I wanted to get in the final version. The pattern on the dress and generally the look of the dress were where I had most difficult time. It turns out, though, that painting as much of patterns on clothes by hand as possible results in better final product after all (on contrary to relying on filters, textures etc.). I did use an impressionistic (I think?) brush for patterning the main fabric of the dress to save time, though painting it properly would have probably been better after all.
The anatomy could be better as well and as always, however, I did like the energy of the sketch and wanted to keep it.
