Those who saw my last screenshot got a taste of the Work In Progress of this and now I've finally completed what is only my second digital painting of a real (non-Fictional) person so far, but still having made use of the things I've slowly learned from those other ones when it comes to my semi-realism style...And that's what I love about Japanese Musicians, they are often real-life semi-realism
and pure eye-candy to look at 
Gackt being one of the most popular and well known I thought would be a good candidate for this otherwise unplanned work 
A reference photo was used, but the lighting was too uniform and the background very plain, so while the pose is the same, the lighting, colour and background was up to me to make more interesting (I changed his vest to a sexier type too
) All drawn in Photoshop with a tablet.Edit: I added a bit more muscle definition in the arms and some texture and refining of the clothes. The hands though were the part I fixed most due to critiques on that.

Excellent work. For me it is the facial expression that is the most important in figure drawing.

It sure is, a good body is wasted on an ugly face. I'm no master at either, but I hate letting down a whole portrait/character by messing up the face, I spend as much time on that as the rest of the whole body
Lol, that copyright signature being the bottom-right or the watermark? since the watermark I just did similar to dA's one but added it myself so it isn't carelessly slapped right in the middle like the default dA one

It is not the beauty of the face that I speak of, rather the conveying of mood, emotion, and story in the facial expression. This is by far the greatest challenge in figure drawing.
I was speaking of the copyright signature in the lower right corner. People are constantly leaving out an element. The name or tradename/trademark is needed, plus the copyright symbol, and finally the year produced. I like when I see the signature put together in a creative way. I think I may have sent you information on it sometime in the past. The signature you put in the lower right corner is what legally copyrights the art.
Technically, nothing is needed, there is "Implied Copyright." Unfortunately, it becomes extremely hard to prove your copyright if someone steals it, if you do not have it copyrighted. If it is really valuable and important to you, you can actually register it with the Copyright Office. But that is not practical with the bulk of what we produce.
The watermark helps prevent unauthorized use. If it includes all three elements, it can act as the copyright signature, as long as it is legible.

Lol, there's tons of characters and some real people that I had the same experience with, seeing fan-art of these people who I have no idea about and then finally realising it later...It's so much esier to appreciate and understand fan-art and celeb portraits once you know who they actually are

Cloud was like head to toe, Genesis was slightly based, though modified, and I think he did the voice for Genesis in the Japanese version of the game.
I Agree about the hair, though I don't really like a lot of crap in my hair, mainly use a pomade

Thanks, reflections (especially ones this blurry) can be done as simply as duplicating what is to-be reflected, flipping it upside down and using the motion blur on it

I've done heaps in the past, it's pretty much equal tie with my 3D art. I just choose whichever one I'm in the mood for at the time, sticking to one for nymore than a few deviations in a row gets a bit boring
